The Bernese health collective Alveare is made up of people who deal with different approaches and knowledge in the field of health, bodies and illness both professionally and out of interest. They are united by the desire to critically question structures and topics relating to health and illness together and to develop their own structures and alternatives.
They use the residency to establish contacts and learn about different research methods. Existing practices should be consolidated and deepened.
For example, they conduct a guided walk with interested parties, during which they discuss and experience different forms of knowledge in relation to the body and health. The question is: what knowledge is considered legitimate in our society and how is it subject to various power structures?
Another project is the production of a magazine that critically examines the treatment of “fat bodies” within the Swiss healthcare system.
