In the Filmmaking Marathon, we train researchers in the tools of dramatic storytelling and filmmaking to communicate their research and make their science more accessible to a broader audience. Participants from various Swiss universities and research centres learn the basics of visual storytelling and filmmaking and produce short films in groups under the guidance of professional filmmakers. The films produced will be screened as premieres at the 6th Global Science Film Festival (www.sciencefilm.ch) in Basel, Bern, Lugano and Zurich from November 8-10, 2024, with a special award for the best film.
